how I use AI, and why
an invitation to see how this was made
This page was drafted by AI. I haven't reviewed it yet, so the ring is dashed. It will change as I make it my own.
why I show my work
I spend my days with people in tender places, and trust is the ground of that work. If AI helps shape what you read, hear, or receive from me, I want you to know where it helped and how much.
You're welcome to feel however you feel about AI. This page is here so that whatever you decide, you decide with clear information.

the circle
Every piece of writing and every message here carries a small circle.
- The filled part is the share of the words that came from me.
- The open part is the share that came from AI.
- The ring shows whether a person read and approved it. A solid ring means I did. A dashed ring means no one has yet.
These four are examples.
how it's measured
When AI drafts something and I edit it, the system keeps both the draft and my final version and compares them word by word. The circle shows what's left of each of us in the final text.
For things that can't be measured this way, like a song or a drawing, I say it in my own words, and the circle is marked as declared rather than measured.
try it
Change the final version below and watch the circle move. This is how an email or a page is measured behind the scenes.
20% of the final words are mine, 80% came from the AI draft.
A person reviewed it, so the ring is solid.
what the circle can't tell you
It counts words, not ideas. I might shape the thinking, the structure, and the heart of something, and still let AI write the sentences. And a handful of small word swaps can move the number more than they should.
So please read the circle as an honest signal, not a verdict. If you'd like to know more about how something was made, ask, and I'll tell you.

working together, in the open
I think of this as working with a tool, not handing something off. The circle is how I try to keep that honest: it shows what's mine, what's borrowed, and what a person has stood behind.

where AI helps
- The resource finder, when it opens. It suggests things from this library and nothing else. Its answers are marked as AI.
- Emails and reminders. AI may draft them. I review each one before it goes out, and the circle on it shows what changed.
- Scheduling and sign-up admin. Confirmations, reminders, and keeping track of who's registered.
what AI doesn't do
[proposed wording: these are commitments, so edit freely]
- It doesn't see the health, history, or intake information you share when you register.
- It doesn't decide who joins a gathering. I do.
- It isn't therapy and it isn't crisis support.
- It doesn't send messages for me without my review, unless a message is marked otherwise.
